Mary Ann Cocoros
Argerake, "Corky", 75, of Salisbury and formerly Baltimore, MD. and
Chelmsford MA., lost a long tough fight against cancer June 25 at home
surrounded by her family. Born in Baltimore August 14, 1931, a graduate
of the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore Maryland, she was a beloved
wife, mother, grandmother and a caring, dedicated friend who lived a
very spiritual, giving life. She was an active member of the Greek
Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society through the St. George Greek
Orthodox Church in Ocean City and the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox
Church in Lowell, MA. She was also a member of the Ocean Pearls and a
volunteer at the Ward Museum in Salisbury. She enjoyed bowling, leisure
strolls on the boardwalk and eating soft-shell crabs. In June 1955 she
married Edward Argerake who died in October 1998. Surviving are three
sons George Edward and Kathleen Argerake of San Diego CA. Mark Edward
and Amy Elizabeth Argerake of Murrieta CA. and Edward George Argerake
Jr. of Salisbury, MD; one daughter Nicola "Niki" A. and Ralph Thrash of
Frederick, MD. and seven grandchildren Kristen and Gina Argerake of San
Diego, CA, Keith and Lexie Thrash of Frederick, MD., Bethany, Jennifer
and Megan Argerake of Murrieta, CA. and Ashley Argerake of Dracut, MA.
and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Nicolas
and Jennie Sarantakos Cocoros and the sister of the late Anthony "Ed",
Constantine "Gus" and Stavro "Steve" Cocoros and Pauline Bagdasian. A
funeral services were held Saturday June 30th at St. George Greek
Orthodox Church at 89th Street and Pacific Ave. in Ocean City.
Officiating was V. Rev. Fr. Vasilios Penteridis, Archimandrite..
Interment at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Contributions may be
made in memory of the deceased to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 132
E. main St., Salisbury, MD 21801 or the Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733,
Salisbury, MD 21802.
